ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Woodlands Company is one of the top importers, wholesalers and commission agents for essential food commodities in Sri Lanka. We are committed to delivering the commodities at competitive prices without compromising quality. The company was founded by Mr. Markandu Kathiresu in 1978. It started off as a small business and successfully grew into one of the largest businesses for importing and wholesales in Sri Lanka. We import many agro products, including pulses, spices, sugar, raisins, etc. Our products are imported from Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, India, USA and several other countries. Our long-term vision is to stimulate our local agriculture industry by directly investing in local farming and inspire others to follow. Sri Lanka is heavily dependent on imported food commodities and we are trying to help and promote local farming. Our aim is to farm a few food commodities on our own, thus increasing employment for local people and to saving foreign currency.
